How to Value Your Rich Elderly Aunt

Philip Cooper, 26 November 2002, 10 am – 3.30 pm

Task 2

[Note to teachers: you will need to print the analysis in the second part of Philip's talk from the website for your students for this part].

Take a break now and go through the second part of Philip's talk with your teachers and make sure you understand it. It is important that you understand why we need to use the area under a curve to calculate the probability that Auntie dies before you.

You should also discuss methods you know to find such areas.

[Now go back to the third part of Philip's talk]
