The Planets
First conference: 10 February 2004, 1.15pm UK time
Second videoconference: 17 March 2004, 1.15pm UK time
What do you know about our solar system? How big are the planets? How far apart are they? Is Pluto really a planet? Could you live on one of the other planets? Where do all the names come from? Find out all this, and much more, by joining in our videoconferences.

The first videoconference will be on 10 February, 2004. Before this, children have a preliminary task (see the link below) to do, to get them thinking about the planets and the solar system. Between the first and second videoconference, on 17 March, 2004, there are lots of ideas below for follow-up project work.
We don't expect any one class to do all of these, or even more than one. There are lots of ideas, so teachers can fit this project work around what their class is doing in various curriculum areas. The children will do a presentation of their project work at the second videoconference.
