First videoconference: March 3, 2006, 1.30pm GMT
The queen bug likes thing tidy when her bug troops parade before her. Poor soldier Joe keeps messing things up by being a remainder of one. He tries various solutions to keep the squadron of 25 in equal lines and is a very happy bug when he solves the problem. We have presented this conference before, and you can see the project work set then at Remainder of One. It is likely that we will develop the material further for this presentation, but this will give you an idea of what to expect. The first videoconference will be an interactive session, with marching rhymes and activities! The second videoconference is an opportunity for participating schools to show each other what they have done since their first meeting. For further information, contact Jenny Gage at jag55@cam.ac.uk. To reserve a place on this conference, go to Get involved! and contact Adrian Cullum-Hanshaw, 01223 764106 or 0774 703 5984, to arrange a videoconferencing connection test. Schools already booked into this conference or on the waiting list There is a range of mathematical and other projects below so that schools can choose ideas which are most appropriate for the pupils participating.
