First videoconference: 7 June 2006, 13.15
Second videoconference: 10 July 2006, 13.15
This conference is based on our two videoconference format and is aimed at 9-12 year-old primary and secondary school students. This would be a great opportunity to run a cross-phase transition event.

Paper folding is a favourite pastime for both children and adults. However paperfolding is more than a creative hobby. It can be used as an entertaining way to learn mathematics, particularly it's geometric aspects.

  • Can you fold a square from 'A' size paper?
  • Can you make Islamic and other intriguing patterns using paper folded squares and other polygons?
  • Can you fold a pyramid from an envelope?
  • Can you make a fold-away-in-your-pocket tetrahedron?

Join in this exciting and interactive videoconference to find out!
