Jenny was a maths teacher for some 15 years, before joining the MMP as the academic coordinator for the Motivate videoconferencing project. She is particularly concerned to give students and teachers the opportunity to do their own maths rather than just learn about what other people found out in the past, and to provide opportunities beyond the confines of the syllabus.

Recently she has had the opportunity to work with teachers and students in South Africa and Pakistan in the flesh as well as remotely. Developing these and other international links is also an important focus.

She also worked for many years as a tutor on several Open University maths courses, and has recently completed her PhD with the Centre for Mathematical Education, Open University.

Her other interests include singing in a choir, reading and Killer Sudoku puzzles.
