N/a In this project, we will use calculators to:
- think about efficient ways to do calculations and record what we are doing
- investigate number patterns
- play mathematical games
Students will be encouraged to think about when calculator use is appropriate, and to use their mental arithmetic skills to check what the calculator is telling them. We will also consider the order in which arithmetic operations should be done, particularly if it appears ambiguous.
