Eleanor Robson is a Reader in Ancient Middle Eastern Science in the Department of History and Philosophy of Science at the University of Cambridge.  She teaches a range of lecture courses on Mesopotamian intellectual history, classical Islamic science, the anthropology of science, and the history of Assyriology.  Her research areas are the science, technology and medicine of the ancient and mediaeval Middle East; the history of mathematics; and the history of Assyriology and Middle Eastern archaeology.

Eleanor is the Vice-Chair of the British Institute for the Study of Iraq.
